Thomas Borgia

THOMAS BORGIA

CFO/Partner - J. Raymond Construction Corp

Thomas Borgia is CFO and Shareholder for Florida-based J. Raymond Construction Corp, a general contractor specializing in commercial construction throughout the Southeast. J. Raymond Construction’s portfolio includes retail, grocery, office, healthcare, and warehouse facilities.

Tom joined JRCC in 2007 after almost 10 years of accounting experience with an ENR Top 20 firm. Nationally, Tom currently serves as the Immediate Past Chair of CFMA and has previously served as Chair, Vice Chair and Treasurer. Prior to this, he served on the Executive Committee and has also been a member of several others including the Finance Committee, Investment Subcommittee, Conference Planning Committee, and Education Steering Committee. Tom is also an alumnus of CFMA at Spring Creek and CFMA’s Mentoring Program. He has also participated in CFMA’s Peer Groups for the past four years. Locally, Tom has been a member of CFMA’s Central Florida Chapter since 2003, where he has served in several different roles including President. In his spare time enjoys spending time with his family, at the beach, and snow skiing.


GARY DRESSLER

ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR- EisnerAmper

Gary Dressler is an Associate Director with EisnerAmper. He has more than 27 years of state and local tax experience.

His primary focus is on all matters pertaining to Louisiana state and local taxation, including planning, audit representation, and representation at both state and local appeals hearings.

Gary previously spent 19 years in the retail industry, two years in the tax department of an oil and gas company, and over 18 years with a Big Four firm where he served as the State Tax Resource Network member for Louisiana and Mississippi until 2015.


RICHARD F. KING, CPA, CGMA, CCIFP

TREASURER/CFO- SCHLOUCH INC

Richard F. King, CPA, CCIFP is the Treasurer/Chief Financial Officer at Schlouch Incorporated in Blandon, PA.  He manages all aspects of accounting, finance, IT, insurance, contracts, Human Resources and administration. 

Rich earned a BS in Business Administration from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania.  He has over thirty-five years’ experience in public accounting and industry.  He has spoken on accounting, equipment, project management, technology and HR topics at CFMA local, regional and national conferences as well as Con Expo, YPO, AEMP and AICPA construction conferences, ENR webcast, software users’ conferences and trade association meetings.

Rich is a founding member and past President of CFMA’s Greater Berks-Lehigh Valley, PA Chapter.  He has served on CFMA’s Executive and Leadership Development Committees as well as Co-chair for the Conference Planning and Heavy/Highway Committees.  He also serves as Co-chair for the AEMP-CFMA KPI Joint Project, Treasurer of the Lehigh Valley Business Coalition on Healthcare, Group Captive Executive Committee and Co-Chair of the Building Committee at his church.

Rich received CFMA’s Danny B. Parrish Leadership Award in 2023; the Deborah Hahn Memorial Award in 2008; and was named CFO of the Year by Lehigh Valley Business in 2015.   In addition, in 2016, Schlouch Incorporated received AEMP’s Fleet Masters Award for excellence in equipment fleet management.  Rich also received CFMA’s Midatlantic Conference Trail Blazer Award and LVBCH’s Leadership in Wellness Recognition Award.


MICHAEL KRUCKER, J.D.

PARTNER – PLANTE MORAN

As the national leader of Plante Moran’s employee benefits consulting practice, I advise clients on designing, implementing, and operating incentive compensation and employee benefit programs to stay competitive in the market and increase employee engagement. While I work with clients in all industries, most of them are in construction & real estate, manufacturing and distribution, and professional services.  

Since joining the firm in 2008, I’ve become an expert in the area of human capital, including employee benefits, human resources, and payroll. I love that the field is always changing. I enjoy helping clients shape the benefits programs that will help them remain competitive into the future. In fact, I’ve stayed with this career because I know that what I do makes a difference to my clients and in the lives of my clients’ employees.  

I received my B.A. in political science from Michigan State University, a certificate in French studies from Université Stendhal Grenoble, and my J.D. from Wayne State University Law School.  


DONNA LAQUIDARA-CARR, PhD, LEED AP

INDUSTRY INSIGHTS RESEARCH DIRECTOR – DODGE DATA & ANALYTICS

Donna Laquidara-Carr is Industry Insights Research Director at Dodge Data & Analytics, where she provides editorial direction to the SmartMarket Report Series, covering such diverse topics as World Green Building Trends, Business Value of BIM, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Design and Construction Industry, The Drive Toward Healthier Buildings, Building a Safety Culture and Lean Construction.

 In her role as Research Director, Donna is actively engaged in all aspects of the research process, from survey development to data analysis to authoring reports based on the data.

Her insights on these topics have been published in numerous industry publications, and she regularly conducts webinars and speaks about this research at events for diverse organizations, including the AIA National Conference, Greenbuild, CMAA National Convention, AGC National Convention, the Lean Congress and many others.

Previously, Donna was responsible for policy and training for the editorial division of the Dodge Reports. Donna has her Ph.D. from Tulane University, M.A. from Boston University and B.A. from Middlebury College.


CAROLYN PURWIN RYAN

PARTNER – MULLEN COUGHLIN

Carolyn Purwin Ryan is a Partner at Mullen Coughlin. She serves as breach counsel and provides third-party privacy defense legal services. She also aids clients in incident response planning, including tabletop exercises, assessment of regulatory compliance requirements and inquiries from regulators on both the state and federal levels. Ms. Ryan serves as a breach counsel to companies in various areas including healthcare institutions, construction companies, managed service providers, municipalities, professional services, retail, technology and financial institutions. She leads response investigations, guidance in governmental investigations, mitigation and restoration services. Ms. Ryan counsels clients on development of risk assessment policies, vendor agreement analysis and implementation of data privacy practices.

Prior to joining Mullen Coughlin, Ms. Ryan was the co-chair of the Cybersecurity and Data Privacy department at her previous firm. She also served as national counsel for several state and federal mass tort litigations representing manufacturers and distributors of pharmaceuticals, medical publishers, morcellators and various surgical devices. She previously clerked for the Honorable Joseph Rosa in the Superior Court of New Jersey and Honorable Richard Berman in the United State Court, Southern District of New York.

Carolyn was named a Pennsylvania “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers in 2018 and 2019.


TROY RHODES, CPA

Troy Rhodes is a Manager in RSM’s Technology Advisory, Management Consulting practice. He is a practicing CPA with 30+ years of professional experience. Early in his career, he began implementing financial applications across a wide spectrum of industries and business segments. This grew into successful roles leading solution selection and project delivery engagements of increasingly more sophisticated ERP systems, IT infrastructure, collaboration, and unified communications as well as custom applications.

Troy worked his way through college in the Texas oilfields, as a commercial truck driver, and as a warehouse forklift operator. These early roles provided him with a foundation of hands-on experience in heavy equipment-oriented businesses, which he has continued to leverage with formal education and professional work experience to derive solutions for his clients.

KRISTIN SCROGGIN

Kristin Scroggin can’t do math or bake a pie, but she knows her stuff when it comes to Generational Diversity and Communication! Kristin has a Master’s degree in Communication Studies, a Bachelor’s in Communication Arts, and has been a Communications Professor at the University of Alabama in Huntsville for 15 years.

In 2017 she launched her company, genWHY Communications, and has been a Keynote Speaker at more than 100 conferences and 250+ organizations across the United States, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to tiny non-profits. Her research has been published in magazines, and she’s been a guest on multiple podcasts. Kristin consults on attracting, developing, and retaining Rockstar Millennial and GenZ talent. Obsessed with travel, and desperate to see the world, she and her husband try to keep their four children alive while trying to keep their heads above water.


MIKE TRAMMELL

PARTNER / AUDIT & ATTEST - FORVIS

Mike serves as a regional industry leader of the Construction & Real Estate practice. Mike has more than 35 years of experience working as a trusted advisor to contractors of all types and sizes. Mike also served as controller and CFO of a general contractor giving him an inside perspective. He also holds a South Carolina General Contractor’s License. Mike provides advisory, assurance, and tax strategy services to contractors across the firm. He assists companies with operational, strategic, risk management, and succession issues, as well as financial and management systems and reporting, and tax planning. He also works with various construction-related groups concerning the long-term health of the industry and its member firms. Mike often speaks to construction industry groups regarding organizational leadership, as well as industry-specific issues.

He has spent his entire professional career working in the construction industry. While managing the growth and operations of the former Trammell Company, Mike also worked closely with construction clients and owners on the strategic and operational issues facing their individual businesses. In 2006, Trammell Company merged into the firm.

Mike is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and Mechanical Contractors Association of South Carolina. He is a member of and frequent speaker for the Construction Financial Management Association. For Associated General Contractors, he is a member of Media Resource. He is board member and past chair of Associated Builders and Contractors, Carolinas Chapter. For Wofford College, he is a member of the alumni executive council and past member of the Terrier Club board of directors. He is a past member of the board of regents for Leadership Spartanburg Alumni Association. He is past treasurer of the board of directors and part of the executive committee of Spartanburg Area Conservancy.

He is a graduate of Wofford College, Spartanburg, South Carolina, with a B.S. degree in accounting.


SCOTT YANDLE, CPA, CCIFP

DIRECTOR/ASSURANCE – FORVIS

Scott is a director with FORVIS and is based in the Greenville office. He has more than 15 years of experience leading large audit and consulting engagements in a variety of industries including construction, healthcare, and nonprofit. Scott has presented at various educational events for FORVIS, SC Asphalt Pavement Association, and Construction Financial Management Association.

He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, South Carolina Association of CPAs, Professionals United for Leadership and Social Enrichment, and Healthcare Financial Management Association. He is a Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP®).

Scott is a graduate of University of South Carolina’s Darla Moore School of Business, Columbia, with a B.S.B.A. degree in accounting and an M.Acc. degree.
